Description:
The Northwest Florida Water Management District will host its fifth Operation Outdoor Freedom (OOF) Special Deer Hunt February 2-4, 2022, at the Econfina Creek Wildlife Management Area in Bay and Washington Counties. The four selected OOF hunters will have the opportunity to hunt from ground blinds pre-placed in a portion of the WMA that is closed to public hunting. Each hunter will be allowed to harvest one antlered and one antlerless deer. Each hunter may bring one non-hunting assistant. All meals will be provided, hunting assistants will be available if needed, and transportation from base camp to blinds will be provided. Hunters will need to bring their own camping gear or campers (no hookups), or may stay at nearby motels, if needed. Camping will be allowed at a field office compound which has electricity, water, and a restroom with shower. Temperatures below freezing are possible. Participants will be drawn at random via the OOF website prior to the event. Participants will be selected to participate in only one event unless there are unfilled slots available at other events for which you have applied. Selected participants will be notified by email.
