Nomination Comments

The circumference was taken 1.4ft above ground on the west side of the tree just above a large root. Also, after a few hours of careful work in two sessions by Frezza & Duquesnel, completed on the same day as these measurements, the tree was released from entrapment by encircling roots of an epiphytic Pitchapple (Clusia rosea). Deep grooves mark the trunk where roots had been embedded and a portion of Clusia trunk remained entrapped in crotch of Gumbo Limbo’s forked trunk.
